The town Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre stands in a choice location on the Mediterranean coast, to the north of the Costa de Castellón. The town boundaries encompass part of the Serra d ́Irta Natural Park, perfect surroundings for walking and cycling trips. The coast of Alcossebre, which stretches over more than 10 km, offers numerous high quality beaches and coves, most with fine sand.
Take an unmissable trip up to Santa Lucía Hermitage and admire the fabulous panoramic views as well as the old town of Alcalà de Xivert, with its impressive monumental sites, the Church of San Juan Bautista and its emblematic bell tower along with the picturesque and historically significant Xivert Castle.
A highlight among the famed local produce is the Tomata de Penjar, a traditional variety of tomato grown for over a century in the town, known for its special flavour, long conservation and careful cultivation, which make it highly sought-after in gastronomic circles over recent years and a key ingredient in a number of recipes.
The town has its own landscape - rich, diverse and full of contrasts - where the flat land and the mountains alternate with the beaches and rocky coastal cliffs, an ideal destination for either summer holidays or a peaceful break throughout the year.
