Introducing Castellón at ITB Berlin 2026: International Momentum for Tourism and the MICE Segment
From March 3 to 5, Introducing Castellón participated in ITB Berlin, the leading international tourism trade fair held at Messe Berlin. This globally recognised event brought together thousands of tourism professionals, becoming a key platform for generating business opportunities and positioning destinations.
In collaboration with HOSBEC, the Introducing Castellón team maintained an active agenda of meetings with travel agencies, tour operators and event organisers. These meetings helped strengthen the visibility of the province as both a tourism and professional destination, consolidating its presence in strategic markets.
The main objective of participating in the fair was to showcase Castellón’s tourism and MICE offer, highlighting its infrastructure, connectivity and the richness of its natural, cultural and gastronomic resources. The province was presented as a versatile destination capable of hosting congresses, corporate events and incentive trips, combining professionalism with authentic experiences.
During the fair, real business opportunities were identified, especially within the MICE sector. The complementary relationship with the city of Valencia was highlighted, offering proposals that expand possibilities for organisers and visitors alike. Several of the contacts established expressed interest in developing projects in the short and medium term, opening new avenues for collaboration.
Particular emphasis should be placed on the meetings held with German tour operators, where progress was made on programming agreements for Castellón and the Valencian Community. These agreements focus on high-demand segments such as active tourism, wellness and cultural travel, further strengthening the destination’s positioning in the international market.
The overall assessment of participation in ITB Berlin has been highly positive. The quality of the contacts made and the level of interest generated confirm Castellón’s potential as a competitive destination within the tourism and MICE sectors. The fair made it possible to clearly communicate its unique advantages and its ability to offer personalised experiences.
As next steps, individual follow-up actions will be carried out with each contact in order to advance the projects identified during the fair. At the same time, new promotional initiatives and communication strategies will be developed to maintain and strengthen Castellón’s international presence, consolidating its position as a leading destination.
